COLLECTOR / STUDIO RULES
As a professional fine artist for his entire adult life, Sandy has established ground rules for collectors who are interested in supporting his career.
1. Garnett's word is good and he expects the same from his collectors. If a collector commits in an email or verbally to purchase a piece of art Garnett trusts the collector will honor this commitment.
2. The artist's prices have been developed carefully over many years of consistent painting and sculpture sales, so Garnett asks that new collectors respect his established pricing structures.
3. In the case of a commissioned painting or sculpture Garnett asks for a 50% deposit and 50% upon successful completion of the work. If the work is to be shipped Garnett will email a photo of the work for approval before crating. The 50% balance plus shipping is charged to a collector's credit card before a commission ships. All work is guaranteed.
4. Garnett has never sold a copyright. He owns all of the copyrights on every original piece of art he has made and sold and he will do whatever he wants with the images of his work, whether a given work of art is sold or remains in inventory. In some cases he will use an image to make limited edition prints or promotional materials. He will not seek approval to use an image that he made in the first place, so he reserves this right to use his images as he wishes at any point now and in the future to promote his fine art career.
5. Garnett instituted the R.K. rule after successfully completing a project for an impossibly rude client in 2004. The R.K. rule is reserved in the event that a similar situation arises. If Garnett throws the R.K. flag the flagged individual will not be allowed to visit or purchase from the artist. Life is too short and the artist already has 500 great collectors to work with.
6. Garnett does not do 100% donations for charities, but he will donate a portion of a commission or a piece of art if he is approached and decides to participate in a silent auction. The artist has to make a living doing what he loves and cannot afford to give his work away. Thank you for respecting this firm rule that has been in place for ten years.
7. The artist will do his best to make the process of collecting and commissioning art an enjoyable, successful experience. As a collector of collectors the artist is very fluent with all types of projects, mediums, styles, and commissions. He has spent his career building lifetime relationships with his collectors who support his art and help him to live his dream.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
