Garnett's first sculpture in 1998 was a Fingerprint Family Totem.  The artist explores contemporary identity with this series, and is commissioned to paint and sculpt Fingerprint Totem sculptures for his collectors.

Garnett needs one clean fingerprint from each family member with which to work.  Then he finds the most dynamic pattern configuration out of his collector's fingeprints.  He has worked in glass, granite, marble, an assortment of woods.

In 2004 Garnett began to explore silhouettes as he was looking to create his first figurative sculptures.  This gave way to his groundbreaking Field of Figures sculptures and his Revolutionary Portraits and Family Totems that can be seen below this section in the menu.
