Garnett's first painting at the age of 20 was a Fingerprint Self-Portrait.  In the past several decades the artist has explored contemporary identity by collecting thousands of fingerprints from his friends and collectors.  This body of work is one of the cornerstones of Garnett's fine art career and sought after by collectors around the nation and in a growing list of countries where his work is now collected.

The artist sends fingerprint kits to his collectors with which he creates Fingerprint Portrait paintings and sculptures.  He has painted fingerprints in all mediums, on all mediums, anywhere from scrapbook size to ten foot tall canvases.
